Use of Facebook plugins

Our website uses so-called social plugins (“plugins”) of the social network Facebook, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plugins are marked with a Facebook logo or the addition “Social Plug-in from Facebook” or “Facebook Social Plugin”. An overview of the Facebook plugins and their appearance can be found here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins

If you call up a page of our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser and integrated into the page. Through this integration, Facebook receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook profile or are not currently logged in to Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there.

If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can immediately associate your visit to our website with your Facebook profile. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the “Like” button or posting a comment, this information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information will also be published on your Facebook profile and shown to your Facebook friends.

For the purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Facebook’s privacy policy: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php

If you do not want Facebook to assign the data collected via our website directly to your Facebook profile, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent the loading of Facebook plugins with add-ons for your browser, e.g. with the “Facebook Blocker”.

To request the correction of the personal data that we have stored about you. This gives you the opportunity to have incomplete or incorrect data that we have stored about you corrected.

To request the deletion of your personal data. This gives you the opportunity to request that we delete or remove personal data if there is no reasonable cause to continue processing it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal data if you have exercised your right to object to the processing (see below).

Right to object to the processing of your personal data if we (or third parties) invoke a legitimate interest and if you want to exercise your right to object to the processing for a specific reason in your particular situation. You also have the right to object if we use your personal data for direct marketing.

Request the transfer of your personal data in electronic and structured form to you or to another party (commonly known as the right to “data portability”). This gives you the ability to receive your information from us in an electronically usable format and to transfer your information to another party in an electronically usable format.

Revoke consent. In certain circumstances, if you have given us consent to collect, process and transfer your personal data for a specific purpose, you have the right to withdraw your consent for that specific purpose at any time. Once we receive notice that you have withdrawn your consent, we will no longer process your data for the purpose or purposes to which you originally consented, unless we have another legitimate and lawful basis for doing so.

You do not have to pay a fee to obtain access to your personal data (or to exercise any other right). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request for information is clearly unfounded or disproportionate. Alternatively, we may decline to provide access in these circumstances.

We may need to ask you for more specific information to confirm your identity and to ensure your right to access the information (or to exercise any other of your rights). This is another appropriate security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to unauthorized persons.
